GAC Motor Philippines will once again test the endurance of both man and machine as it joins this year’s Petron Kalayaan Cup 12 HR Endurance Race Challenge Series that will be held on June 12, 2022, at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.
For this year’s endurance race, GAC will return with a driver contingent who will take the wheel of that GAC GA4, which has won numerous motorsport awards ever since the Kalayaan Endurance race series began in 2019.
Leading the driver line-up will be Brennan S. Lim, GAC Motor Deputy CEO. He will be joined by multi-awarded race car driver Milo Rivera, along with Kody Ng, Andre Tan, and Estefano Rivera. Together, the 5 drivers will take turns in piloting the GA4 through its paces en route to the chequered flag at the end of the 12-hour endurance race.
Apart from testing the skill and endurance of the man behind the wheel, the Petron Kalayaan Cup 12 HR Endurance Race Challenge will likewise prove the mettle of cars like the GAC GA4. To this, the compact sedan has garnered a host of race victories under its belt. These include Kalayaan Cup 2019 – 12-Hour Class Champion (Manufacturer’s Class); 4-Hour Class Champion (Manufacturer’s Class); and Overall 4-Hour 1st Runner Up. Bonifacio Cup 2019 – 8-Hour Class Champion (Open Class Group B); 8-Hour Class Champion (Manufacturer’s Class); 4-Hour Class Champion (Open Class Group B); and 4-Hour Class Champion (Manufacturer’s Class). Kalayaan and Kagitingan Cup 2021 – 12-Hour Class Champion (Open Class Group B); 6-Hour Class Champion (Open Class Group B); 4-Hour Class Champion (Open Class Group B); Overall 12-Hour 1st Runner Up; and Overall 4-Hour 1st Runner Up.
With these awards, the GAC GA4 has proven that it has the durability and reliability to not only win an endurance race but to provide numerous years and kilometers of worry-free ownership for those that will use it on less rigorous yet equally challenging real-world conditions. Plus, its 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with DCVVT variable valve timing technology that procures 113hp and 136Nm of torque are more than enough to get it through most driving conditions. And its L-type front strut suspension gives it excellent handling while still returning a comfortable ride.
“GAC Motor’s return to the Petron Kalayaan Cup 12 HR Endurance Race Challenge Series is proof that the brand and its vehicles like the GA4 have what it takes to endure such a grueling event, as well as provide owners with a durable and reliable daily driver,” explains Brenna S. Lim, GAC Motor Deputy CEO.
