Volvo Philippines clinched the Smart and Safer Mobility Award at the recently held Europa Awards 2021.
This recognition is given to the company that has offered innovative and sustainable mobility solutions presented by current transportations system challenges. The award given to Volvo PH acknowledges the company’s efforts to address present concerns when it comes to accessibility, infrastructure availability, and environmental impact. The Europa Award also gives the nod to Volvo Ph’s customer-centric approach in delivering a cleaner, data-driven, and safer approach to redefining the urban mobility ecosystem.
Volvo Cars has a clear direction as they move forward. Along with world-renowned safety, sustainability is key in all their operations. By working towards climate-neutrality, embracing the circular economy, and conducting business operations responsibly, Volvo helps protect the planet and contribute to a fairer society.
“Electrification is how Volvo sees the future when it comes to safer and sustainable mobility. Hence, in 2019, we are also the first luxury car company in the Philippines to introduce a range of Plug-In Hybrid vehicles,” said Volvo PH President and CEO, Atty. Alberto B. Arcilla.
Volvo PH is also the first premium car company in the country to develop an online customer service platform called Volvo Concierge when the coronavirus pandemic hit. This enabled Volvo PH to readily and efficiently assist clients with their technical and service-related automotive needs.
Aside from rethinking sustainability in their products and operations, Volvo Philippines has also spearheaded several programs that promote safer and smarter mobility. Just as Volvo Cars have unselfishly shared the life-saving three-point safety belt with the world, Volvo PH also shares crucial safety and sustainability information not only with their customers but with everyone. Sustainability forums, road safety projects, child safety in cars, and other efforts to make mobility safer and smarter are some of the projects that the local Volvo dealer and distributor are passionate about.
“Volvo Fika Talks, for example, is an ongoing series on sustainability where we engage with academic institutions and have open discussions with current industry practitioners to create an environment that highlights the benefits and impact of electrification and sustainable mobility,” shares Christopher L. Yu, Marketing Head for Volvo PH.
He adds, “Safe Roads by Volvo is another local initiative. We collaborate with schools to raise awareness about road safety among students, school personnel, parents, guardians, and other road users. By putting up more visible road signages along school driveways and within school premises, we aim to create a safer and accident-free community.”
Organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), this is the first-ever Europa Awards that aims to give due recognition to top companies that excel in Circular Economy, Clean and Efficient Energy, Green and Inclusive Finance Solutions, Smart and Safer Mobility, Sustainable Food and Nutrition, and Water Resource Management.
