This month, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) will be launching its 3rd generation luxury SUV, the Honda Pilot. The Japanese carmaker believes that the unveiling of the Pilot will elevate the premium SUV segment in the Philippine market.

New exterior body. Honda engineers comes out with a new a game-changer sleeker body design. According to Honda, the 2016 model was restyled to a sport modern, yet commanding and muscular form. This means that the Pilot replaces its boxy-shaped body with a more aerodynamic shape and sharp character lines. The result: A more athletic and sporty appearance (with new signature LED headlights, three-bar grille, and 20-inch wheels); thus, increasing personal sophistication for both driver and passengers.

Cool Interior. Honda matched the Pilot interior with a new upscaled cockpit. Premium styling is covered by the new soft-touch materials such as LED ambients lighting and Display Audio System.

Inspiring Performance. In terms of power, the new Pilot is still equipped with a more powerful direct injected 3.5-liter SOHC i-VTEC Earth Dreams Technology engine. It has a Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) cylinder deactivation technology that allows you to deliver more refined and fuel efficient performance.

Safety. Awarded by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in 2015 as Top Safety Pick, the Honda Pilot still earns the good ratings in five crashworthiness tests (small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints) and superior rating for front crash prevention. For 2016, standard safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM).

Pricing. There’s no official statement regarding the price of the new Honda Pilot. But we are roughly guessing the price at around Php 3M and up.
