Tired of Metro Manila’s Hellish Traffic? We have a good news for you. Asia’s on-demand and ride-sharing helicopter platform Ascent formally announces its arrival in the Philippine market, with the official media launched last week together with DOTr Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports Manuel Tamayo.
Under the name of Ascent Urban Mobility Philippines Corporation, the company aims to make the world closer and connected through urban air mobility. Ascent is a step forward—one where mobility is an end-to-end service, starting with helicopters to skip the traffic and with first and last mile land transport to get from door-to-door seamlessly.
The Singapore-based company offers motorists an alternative means of traversing the metropolis in a fast and more convenient way. The Ascent Helicopter Service can reduce travel time in the Greater Manila Area by up to 70-percent, a valuable time that can be used to create more value in society or simply to spend with your families.
Currently, Ascent is operated by INAEC Aviation Corporation, an air transport service provider in the country that offshore oil and gas producers, medical service providers, high-value cargo movers, news and events broadcasters, and local and foreign companies.
It can take passengers to and from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City, Mandaluyong City, Makati City, Bonifacio Global City, Quezon City, Clark in Pampanga, and Tagaytay City in Cavite.
To give you at least a ballpark figure of their rates, if you’re planning to travel Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to Clark Freeport Zone, or vice-versa via helicopter, the price seat costs is around P25,900.
You can also book your ride if you’re traveling to Greater Manila. For instance, a five to seven-minute ride from Makati to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig, ranges from P6,900 per passenger. (Well, consider paying a full tank of gas in just one-day for your vehicle). And besides, it’s not everyday you ride a chopper!
How about luggage that you can bring? According to Ascent, one small carry on per person is allowed (10kg maximum), roughly the same size as a carry on bag on a commercial airline flight. Your luggage will be inspected for size and weight when you arrive to the Ascent Lounge or point of departure.
And for those who have excess or over sized baggage? Sorry guys, Ascent has a limitations and reserves the right to disallow a bag or bags that are deemed too heavy or oversize.
