Today marks a momentous history in the Philippine transport system with the official ground-breaking of the highly-anticipated Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) held at Barangay Ugong in Valenzuela City.
The Metro Manila Subway Project, which considered as the first-ever underground railway system in the country, aims to help lessen traffic congestion and expected to transform the economic and social landscape in the National Capital Region.
This flagship project is under the Duterte Administration’s “Build, Build, Build” Program, which entails to deliver solutions that will enhance mobility and connectivity and help relieve the suffering of millions of Filipinos who struggle in their daily commute.
The Metro Manila Subway measures a total of 36-kilometer railway system that covers 15 stations from Quirino Highway in Quezon City to NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay and FTI in Taguig City.
With a speed of up to 80-kilometers per hour, travel time from Quezon City to NAIA Terminal 3 will go down to as short as 30 minutes.
