Last Tuesday, we were fortunate to attend Department of Transportation (DOTr) unveiling of Public Transport Modernization Expo held at the Philippine Convention Center (PICC) Forum in Pasay City.
It was a one-day exhibit from few truck manufacturers in the country, which displays different prototypes of modern PUVs from five (5) low-floor Public Utility Buses, twenty (20) PUVs classes 2 and 3, and three (3) e-tricycles.
The theme “Modernong Sasakyan, Progresibong Bayan“ is the battle-cry of the government to phase-out 15-year old Jeepneys and replace them with new ones. The government program also includes providing safer and comfortable transport, predictable travel time, disciplined and competent drivers and fair regulations.
Just like any expo, we were expecting at least to have two or four days event. Unfortunately, we were surprised when they announced that the exposition is only good for 1-day period.
We feel that there’s a lot important things that needs to discussed and how the government should involved motorists to have a closer look on the new mobility that is currently undertaking.
We’ve heard that the expo is a FREE display for local truck manufacturers since the activity are government initiatives. So if you missed it out the event, here’s the photos we took during the expo.
