The Henry Ford Awards, the country’s lone awards program that recognizes excellence in automotive journalism, is now on its 20th year and is officially accepting entries and nominations for its milestone year.
The HFA has become an institution in the automotive industry and has honored over 150 motoring journalists over the last two decades.
On its 20thyear, HFA will honor twenty (20) motoring journalists and editorial teams who have demonstrated excellence, utmost professionalism, and social responsibility in their field of work.
- Eleven (11) regular industry categories include Automotive Print Feature, Automotive Online Feature, Automotive Video Feature, Automotive Column, Automotive Photograph, Automotive Green Feature, Automotive Technology Feature, Automotive Road Safety Feature, Automotive Industry Feature, Automotive Online Lifestyle Feature, and Automotive Print Lifestyle Feature.
- Two (2) special Ford categories include Ford Automotive Feature and Ford Automotive Video Feature, recognizing content that showcase Ford vehicles, reviews, launches, industry topics and developments as well as test drives
- Two (2) special industry categories include Best Automotive Section for Broadsheet and Best Automotive Online Publication, recognizing media outlets and editorial teams.
- Five (5) recipients of the newly-introduced Go Further Changemaker Award which will honor journalists who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help his or her fellow countrymen during the Covid-19 pandemic through acts of goodness, programs and initiatives that benefitted frontliners, patients, and the public at large.
Journalists can submit their nominations and entries in the regular, special Ford, and Go Further Changemaker categories.
“The 20th installment of the Henry Ford Awards will be more meaningful not only because it’s a milestone year but also because now more than ever, we want to recognize and pay tribute to our esteemed group of motoring journalists for keeping the industry alive and thriving despite the pandemic,” said EJ Francisco, AVP for Communications, Ford Philippines.
“On our 20th year, we will be honoring 20 journalists, media outlets and editorial teams who have shown excellence, dedication, and passion to their craft to keep the motoring public informed and engaged amid the very challenging times,” added Francisco.
This year’s entries will undergo a two-phase judging process, with each phase having its own set of judges composed of respected professionals from the academe and automotive-related industries, as well as practitioners in photography, video production, creatives and design, digital publishing, and corporate social responsibility.

All entries must be published/posted/aired from November 1, 2019 to October 31, 2020. Deadline for submission of entries is on November 4, 2020.
