Japanese automaker Nissan has unveiled today the all-new Nissan Ariya, an electric crossover SUV that delivers driving excitement, confidence, comfort, and connectivity.

Launched at the Nissan Pavilion in Yokohama, the event marks the new a new chapter for Nissan electric vehicles. With a 100-percent electric powertrain, the Ariya promises powerful acceleration and smooth, quiet operation. Drivers and passengers can relax and enjoy the ride thanks to autonomous driving technology, concierge-level assistance, seamless connectivity and a spacious, lounge-like interior.

The Nissan Ariya is heavily based on the similarly-named concept vehicle displayed at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show and first hinted at with the IMx at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. It’s the first production model to represent Nissan’s new electrified brand identity, forging a path toward a new automotive era where electrification, optimized platform packaging and seamless vehicle AI technology will become standard.

The styling represents the Ariya’s first Nissan Intelligent Mobility “touchpoint,” signaling a significant redefinition of Nissan’s design philosophy. This new philosophy is based on what Nissan calls Timeless Japanese Futurism–characterized by a distinctive Japanese approach conveyed in a simple-yet-powerfully modern way. Designers embraced this with the keywords sleek, sexy and seamless to communicate how an EV paired with advanced
driving capabilities can offer a new perspective to design, function and the ownership experience.

Nissan’s redesigned brand logo is prominently placed at the center of the aerodynamic shield, beaming with crisp definition from the 20 LEDs that compose it. The new brand logo represents Nissan’s passion and dedication towards innovation by challenging
conventional approaches. In keeping both sun and bar design elements, the logo signals a respect for the company’s heritage while moving towards a future of mobility services and electrification.

The Nissan Ariya’s all-electric drivetrain is an example of seamless integration of advanced EV technology. It takes the excitement and potential of zero-emission mobility to the next level by integrating excellent power delivery, charging capabilities and extended range.

With four core models offered, including two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, the Ariya meets the driving needs of a wide range of customers. The Ariya two-wheel-drive model with 87 kWh of usable battery capacity offers a larger battery, delivering additional range for those looking to venture on longer journeys.

The Ariya ensures high levels of comfort and confidence by providing occupants with the latest Nissan technologies, including ProPILOT 2.0 advanced driver assistance. ProPILOT 2.0 is the newest iteration of Nissan’s driver assistance technology.

Equipped as standard on the second generation Nissan LEAF, ProPILOT is a hands-on assistance system that helps drivers stay centered in their lane, navigate stop-and-go highway traffic and maintain a set vehicle speed and distance to the vehicle ahead.
