Motorcycle-hailing app Angkas has announced that they are temporarily suspending passenger services starting March 15 in response to the government’s decision to put Metro Manila under quarantine to contain COVID-19 outbreak and to comply on Department of Transportation’s guidelines as motorcycle taxi pilot.
In a press announcement, the company said that it will continue its delivery services to serve those whom are unable to travel, leave their homes or for emergency services. “Safety continues to be our priority at Angkas, and we support the government’s steadfast efforts to keep everyone safe from COVID-19. During this time, we encourage everyone to continue practicing proper hygiene etiquette and social distancing,” said George Royeca, Chief Transport Advocate of Angkas.
Royeca explained, “We apologize for the inconvenience and we wish everyone safety and protection at this difficult time. Once Metro Manila is declared safe, Angkas will again be here to help you beat the traffic.”
