Pilipinas Shell’s Women Drive the Future campaign won the Gold Stevie Award as the “Marketing Campaign of the Year” for the automotive category in the recently concluded 2019 International Business Awards.
The Women Drive the Future campaign, an integrated digital and PR campaign by shining a light on the stigma that women encounter when they’re behind the wheel.
“Our Women Drive the Future campaign aims to help drive out gender stereotypes and support the many meaningful journeys that women embark on every day,” reveals Cherine Capadocia, Global Brands Strategy Manager of Pilipinas Shell. “It serves as a call-out to all women to embrace their capabilities, pursue their passions, and go where they want to go,” she adds.
“We launched the Women Drive the Future campaign last March in celebration of International Women’s Month and Pilipinas Shell’s 105 years in the Philippines,” shares Karla Zarate, Pilipinas Shell External Relations Manager. “We aimed to provide a platform that will empower women to take control in making the future and continue working towards better gender equality. This, plus the pressing need to make the roads in our country safer and more comfortable, not just for women drivers but for all drivers in the country,” she stresses.
Launched in 2002, the Stevie Awards are the world’s premier business awards which hopes to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide.
Shell’s Women Drive the Future was among the company’s initiatives in closing the gender gap. “More than providing a platform from which women can develop careers and leadership abilities, Shell will continue working towards better gender equality as the nation moves forward to make the future,” explained Capadocia.
