Twenty-two-year-old National Touring Car Champion Daniel Julian Miranda is making a big comeback to race in the international scene with the announcement of his participation at the 2019 TCR Asia Series.

Miranda, who started racing at the age of 14, has confirmed his entry in the TCR Asia Series with Eurasia Motorsport where the Cebuano racer will be driving a Hyundai i30 N TCR, a 2-liter turbocharged six-speed sequential gearbox engine.

The Cebuano racer already has a long list of accomplishments in motorsports. He started his career in go karts and was awarded Karter of the Year in 2013. Miranda was the 2017 Toyota Vios Cup champion with Team Obengers making the switch to single seaters. Last year he achieved a podium finish on his Asian Formula Renault (AFR) debut and was crowned vice-champion in Formula V1.

“2019 will be a very exciting season for me. After a year in formula cars and finishing top five overall, I’ll be encountering a new challenge the TCR Asia Series with Eurasia Motorsport. This will allow me to improve on my race craft together with my motorsports career,” said Daniel Miranda. “Hoping we can do well this season with the team. Thank you Cebuana Lhuillier for the support and I will do my very best for my family, team, and for the Philippines as I am the only Filipino driver in this series.”

Supported by Cebuana Lhuillier, Miranda is re-united with his AFR team to enter the Asian Touring car series, which is scheduled on April 5-7 at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.
