When we talked about cars with character, we can simply identify brands like Mini Cooper, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar and Rolls Royce. For two-wheels, there’s the iconic Italian Brand Vespa. Believe it or not, this iconic scooter remains indomitable for 7 decades selling the same old formula—style and elegance.
Vespa has been known for its classic styling steel unibody which combines a complete cowling for the engine, a flat floorboard, and a prominent front fairing.
MotoItalia Philippines, Inc, the country’s official distributor and importer of Vespa brand, recently launched a limited edition of Vespa Notte—the Sprint 150 and the GTS Super 300. Both scooters are designed for those who really love attention to detail and meticulous body finish.
So what exactly is a Vespa Notte? The Vespa Notte is a Special Edition of Vespa which is based on the technical and mechanical foundation of the most recent large frame Vespa scooters.
Notte, comes from an Italian word which means “night.” And as we take a closer glimpse with the Notte, the color really stood out with a black matte finish.
According to Vespa Philippines, the name selected for this series is a fitting introduction to its décor, characterized by total black graphics. The “night-time” style pairs the beautiful new opaque black of the chassis with numerous glossy black details, including the mirrors, the ornaments of the classic “tie” on the front shield, the handlebar ends, the passenger handle and the extractable footpegs of the GTS Super Notte.
To complete the exterior beauty of the Notte, Vespa engineers refined its saddle, a plate with logo placed on the rear shield and rims and muffler guard are all glossy black.
Of course, the biggest difference is the engine and pricing. The Vespa Sprint Notte is equipped with a single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke engine with electronic injection and 3-valve distribution. Power and maximum torque of the i-get 150 cc engine are 9.5kw at 7750 rpm and 12.8 Nm at 6500 rpm.
Meanwhile, the Vespa GTS 300 Super Notte has a modern, high tech, single cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve, liquid cooled, electronic injection engine capable of providing 15.6 kW (21.2 hp) at 7,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 22 Nm at 5,000 rpm.
The price for the Sprint 150 Notte is pegged at P228,000, while the GTS 300 Super Notte at P368,000.
