If you’re a race fanatics, the Toyota Vios Cup is certainly one of the much-anticipated race to watch as it promotes grassroots racing designed for non-professionals on purely a one-make series. In other words, participants will use the same stock specs during the race.
Last month, the number one carmaker announced the dismissal of the Vios Cup and replacing it with a more grander race program—the Vios Racing Festival.
To be held on April 27 to 28, Toyota aims to deliver the action and excitement of motorsports to an even wider audience—bringing the thrill of racing not just to car enthusiasts but to anyone who wants to experience the heart-pumping excitement of driving.
In his official press statement, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) President Satoru Suzuki said that the Vios Racing Festival will “continue the trailblazing legacy of the Vios Cup,” pertaining to the long-running program that has brought motorsports closer to Filipino racing fans for five years now.
“Through the Vios Racing Festival 2019, Toyota makes the waku doki experience more personal by intensifying the overall experience,” explained Suzuki.
So what’s the difference between the latter Vios Cup? The Philippines’ Vios Racing Festival will composed of two major elements: the Vios Circuit Championship and the Vios Autocross Challenge.
The Vios Circuit Championship will have racers tackling the tracks of Clark Speedway in Pampanga using the All-New Vios.
In this race, there would be three classes—promotional, sporting, and celebrity. The race will have 3 legs with 3 races per leg, happening in June, September, and November.
Meanwhile, the Vios Autocross Challenge will have racers in a timed competition within a specially designed obstacle course where participants can share the tracks with celebrities, media, and car club racers.
