The countdown to meet the latest Suzuki Ertiga has ended last night after Suzuki Philippines, Inc officially unveiled to the motoring press, dealers, and bank partners, the newest version of their best-selling seven-seater MPV.
Now on its second-generation, the new Ertiga is built on the Heartect platform, which is shared also to Swift and Dzire cars.
In the looks department, the new Ertiga receives a new bumper treatment with taller nose and wider front grille, which adds a touch of stability and make the car look edgy. Easily recognizable are the deep curves on the side, shoulder, and character lines, which were added to produce a better and bolder appearance.
Inside, there’s a new steering wheel with flat bottom for better leg clearance while the gauges are painted with metallic chrome for a sleeker look. The seats has a deep curb with the fabric showing a 3D effect.
For starters, it offers new comfort features to help make drive in the Metro traffic more bearable and pleasantly. Space has never been lay-off as the new Ertiga offers a larger passenger legroom with the increase third row seats, which added more head-space with a reclining and tilt-down mechanism up to 16-degrees.
To better appreciate a notch higher level of comfort, Suzuki engineers adds a rear AC which are installed in the second-and-third row passengers seat.
In terms of performance, Suzuki increases a higher displacement powertrain of 1.5-liter engine which produces a decent 103 horsepower and 138 Newton Meter of torque. This can be mated either on a 5-speed manual transmission and 4-speed automatic transmission.
The new Ertiga offers a very competitive pricing. It comes with four variant: the GA at P728,000, GL MT P848,000, GL AT P888,000, and top-of-the-line GLX at P978,000.
