It’s like a rat race nowadays in the mobile market scene as different companies are coming out with different set of game-changing strategies that will attract customers to purchase their affordable and attractive products.
In this highly competitive and crowded market, China brands are not to be outsmart. The newly company Realme has announced their expansion in the Southeast Asia region, including the Philippine market. Although, there is no formal announcement of their arrival but we do expect their presence as the year ends.
For those who don’t know Realme, the company has first seen in China as OPPO Real in 2010. They are the sub-brand of OPPO until the two split up and became an independent brand entity.
Realme is targeting younger smartphone users. The company launches its first smartphone Realme 1 in India in May 2018. What surprises us is that after its successful launching of Realme 1, the phone sold 400,000 units in just 2 minutes in Amazon, making the product as the “best selling” list in the site.
The Realme 1 uses 18:9 display with 6.0-inch FHD+ resolution and is equipped with a MTK Helio P60 chipset, dual SIM, a 13 million pixel rear camera, an 8 million pixel front camera for selfies, and a built-in 3410 mAh battery. It is available in 3 storage configurations: 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage, 4GB of RAMand 64GB of storage, and 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. In terms of price, we convert the pricing base from India’s rupee and PH peso. The Realme 1 starts at P8,273 (4GB) to P10,531 (128GB). Of course, there’s always a chance that this price would increase.
Moreover, Realme’s latest series, the Realme2, set a new record during its launch in India when a total of 200,000 units were sold in under 5 minutes in Amazon.
Inspired by the brand’s “Power Meets Style” product philosophy to take it ‘A Notch Above’, the Realme2 was built based on extensive field research and in-depth interactions with customers – proving that it is set to further disrupt the global smartphone market.
The Realme 2 is equipped with a 6.2-inch HD+ display, Android 8.1 Oreo, Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, and backed up by a 4230mAh battery. It features a diamond-cut back glass design, which retains the phone’s all-glass body. Realme 2 starts at retail price of P7,532 to P11,291.
