This is not the first time that Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation (PSPC) conducts talk about innovation in the business sector.
Last May 24, PSPC, the country’s leader in fuel technology and innovation, gathered representatives from the government, academe, and various industries coming together to push for innovation and cooperation at the 2018 Shell Technology Forum.
“We have lined up great speakers to discuss the theme of what is happening in the future, and possible solutions to problems we may encounter—how we may strengthen the growth of businesses in the future as we address the needs of today,” said Cesar Romero, CEO of Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation.
During the forum, Shell presented its services aimed to augment business operations.
Shell Fleet Solutions Country Business Manager Jackie Famorca presented Shell Card and how it aims to provide mobility solutions to fleet customers apart from just offering a fuel card. Their mobility solutions such as roadside assistance and Shell Telematics, a GPS device installed in vehicles that provides vehicle data like performance reports and driver behavior, were announced that it will be launched in the coming months.
Moreover, Shell also highlighted one of its latest innovations in fuel technology—the Shell FuelSave Diesel with DYNAFLEX Technology.
In her segment, Global Fuels Product Manager of Commercial Fuels Elitza Terzova shared, “Shell FuelSave Diesel with DYNAFLEX technology works for customers in many industries like mining, construction, manufacturing, marine, and transport. Many of our customers have reported seeing tangible benefits. They see and monetize the value of choosing Shell as their fuels partner.”
Meanwhile, Kong Hua Ong, Shell Commercial Fuels Technology Adviser for the East Region, talks about how Shell FuelSave Diesel with dual detergent DYNAFLEX technology is designed to help provide better fuel economy, improve engine efficiency, and increase load pulling power when needed in heavy-duty diesel engines. It is expected that these developments in PSPC’s services, together with the company’s topnotch fuel products, will aid companies in production and operations.
“The good news is we have been experiencing economic growth. We have grown at a rate of 6.4 percent from 2010 to 2017,” revealed Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Assistant Secretary Rafaelita Aldaba who served as the keynote speaker. “A lot of our growth has been driven by industry. The manufacturing sector has been the main driver of growth in our economy,” added Aldaba.
Innovation is more important now than ever as industry and academic experts stressed the presence of a new industrial revolution. “It is going to be greatly affecting us. Education is the only answer for us to survive this Industry 4.0,” said Bettina Quimson, chairman of the Science and Technology Committee of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce.
Shell Lubricants Technology General Manager Cameron Watson added, “In Shell, we are going through 4.0 ourselves and it’s been an exciting journey.” He mentioned the significance of the transfer of information as well as the globalization of knowledge as these help industry players in making sounder decisions and better transactions.
“The game that Shell plays is not just about wanting to sell a liter of fuel or lubricants at the cheapest price. We add value as we partner with you for growth because we want your businesses and our businesses to be sustainable. We want a better world. We want our lives to be easier. And it’s about nation-building. Shell has been here since 1914. We’ve survived that long because we keep innovating. We keep trying to lead technology and development. By working together, we can make that happen,” said Dennis Javier, Vice President of Shell Wholesale Commercial Fuels.
Shell has constantly proven that it is more than just a fuel company. Together with the government, academe, and industry sector, Shell aims to enhance and innovate industry trends to bring about a better economy for the country.
