World-Class French company Motul has announced its full support at the starting of 2018 Season IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.
Known across the globe for producing high-quality performance motor oils and industrial lubricants, Motul, becomes the “Official Motor Oil” of International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and expresses its long-term support for the race.
Motul has the entitlement rights for the Motul Pole Award for the WeatherTech Championship Prototype (P) and GT Daytona (GTD) classes, as well as all Continental Tire Challenge classes which includes cars eligible for the award running two Motul decals. In addition to its entitlement of the Motul Petit Le Mans and overall partnership with Road Atlanta, Motul has pre-existing partnerships with 7 additional WeatherTech Championship venues and events.
“Motul is a highly respected, premium motor oil brand that is an ideal match for IMSA and the many other premium brands involved with our platforms,” said IMSA President Scott Atherton. “Motul is recognized globally as a leader in its industry, just as IMSA has achieved similar status in motorsports. As evidenced by this weekend’s 20th Motul Petit Le Mans finale and activations at a multitude of venues on the IMSA calendar, Motul is extremely active in promoting its products through our sport and will be even more so through our new partnership.
Guillaume Pailleret, Motul USA President, said, “Motul has been involved with the 24 Hours of Le Mans since the 1950’s; very few brands can commit to such a persistence and passion for endurance racing. The IMSA team and sponsors have turned IMSA into a north American racing powerhouse. We see a great fit and we are honoured to be part of the IMSA adventure on a multi-year deal. Six decades of endurance racing have been providing us with a unique laboratory opportunity for our product formulations, exposing powertrains to the most hostile conditions. Races like those change companies like us. We can’t wait to meet the IMSA fans across the United States and Canada.”
Throughout the years, Motul has gained experience as an official supplier to many racing teams and manufacturers and contributes with them to further technological development in motorsports. Motul is supporting those teams in international competitions such as: 24 Hours of Le Mans (cars and motorcycles), FIA World Endurance Championship, Super GT, Drift, Pikes Peak, Japanese championship Super Formula, Blancplan Endurance & Sprint Series, MotoGP, World Superbike, MXGP, Endurance World Championship, Supercross, IOM IT, Ice Speedway Gladiators World Championship, F1 Boat and scores of others.
In the Philippines, Motul Oil and lubricants is exclusively distributed by Autoplus Sportzentrium in the local market.
