Some would say that success has no endpoint. For Carl Dy, President of Spectrum Investments, a property portfolio management company that assists you in the selection, leasing and management of your property investments, he knew that it will take all hard work and God’s perfect timing Celebrating Milestone: The NX STYLE for him to be on top of his career.
But more than that, it’s actually enjoying the fruits of his labor that Carl is celebrating. The newly acquired Lexus NX is the product of Carl’s success.
Before enjoying his fruit of success, Carl mentioned to us that he had to make some notable adjustments in his life. Dy started wearing his entrepreneurial hat some 3 years ago. He said that prior to this, he had endured (and continuously enduring) the uphill battle towards the road to success.
He recalled that before reaching his goal and landing into his current state in the entrepreneurial sector, he started working in the corporate world of Ayala Land. “I worked there (Ayala Land) for more than 10 years until I decided to move to entrepreneurial last August 2013,” he narrated.
“It was a challenging crossroad as my wife was 5-months pregnant that time with our 3rd daughter,” Dy recalled.
He said that he has to cope with the changes from his previous job.
“At first, I miss my daily grind of getting up early, wearing my tie and driving for an hour to Ayala Ave; managing my team of 100 as Director for Sales for Ayala Land Premier,” Dy said.
When he got in the entrepreneurial sector, he has to endure some of the adjustments that it entails: every penny is earned by doing it hands-on. He said that he has to do everything on his own—from meeting with clients in daytime and staying up late at night doing paper works.
“I remember when my home computer broke down, I had no IT team to call, but relied on Google and Youtube to DIY fix my computer,” he remembered.
He remembered that he took the leap of faith—armed with little rainy day fund—put his self outside his comfort zone and started Spectrum Investments with his sister and partner, Icel.
“With the economy on an upward growth, one of my mentors told me, this is the best time to be entrepreneurial. This is a good time to be creative, take more risks and start to wear my entrepreneurial hat,” Dy smiled as he reminisce.
LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT
Earning a good sum of money on his business, Dy was having countless goals to achieve, one of which was acquiring the Lexus NX. Dy said that some three years ago, he went to a mall in Hong Kong where he saw the Lexus NX on display. “I spent a long time admiring this newly launched car and even took photos with it,” he said.
“Someday I will be able to afford one,” he vowed to his self that time, making it his dream car.
“This Lexus NX is more than a vehicle to me. It’s a celebration of a milestone. It’s like reaching the flagpole at the end of a Level,” he said. “I love the youthfulness of the vehicle. I have always kept a visual of the NX in my goals,” Dy added.
Lo and behold, his ideal vehicle—a sports utility spacious enough to feel luxury yet compact that can easily be maneuvered on city streets— was brought just recently.
“I set my faith goal of owning a Lexus when it first landed in the Philippines 7 years ago. I have been coming to this showroom every year. Finally, this 2017 I’m finally bringing home not just a brochure but driving the car of my dreams home,” he said gleefully.
He noted that some of the key points he enjoyed with the Lexus NX was the quiet, comfortable and well-appointed cabin. “The Lexus NX perfectly fits my need for my daily driver,” Dy mentioned.
Going back to his business, he said that he is grateful on the success that they are receiving from the company.
“It’s been 3 years since I took that leap of faith of going entrepreneurial. I am very grateful that our company Spectrum Investments now has surplus to buy its first company car.
“It is a sign for Spectrum Investments not to be complacent, but to move up to another level and give more value to the community,” he noted confidently.
