“Hard work pays off.” This is one word that best describes the success of the inauguration of Foton’s P1.2-billion worth assembly plant in Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.
During the unveiling ceremony, Rommel Sytin, President of Foton Philippines, said, “This assembly plant is truly the ultimate goal that my brothers and I had.”
“Along with the continued expansion of our dealership and service network, our production facility signifies Foton’s intent to be in the Philippines for the long haul,” adds Sytin.
The manufacturing facility is capable of producing 12,000 units annually. Currently, the single line is being used for the passenger vehicle line-up, light duty trucks, as well as for heavy duty trucks.
The humble executive shared that the new assembly plant will provide jobs across North to over 500 people. “In all that I do, the greatest satisfaction is in knowing that aside from reaching or my dreams, I have also helped and changed the lives of others” explained Sytin.
Sytin also shared how challenging it was to sell barely 100 units during their first two years of operation. Obviously, the company has gone through rough roads prior to incessantly evincing preeminence in the industry. “It took a while, but we feel very fortunate that all our hard work has paid off,” he said.
The company’s humble beginnings have eventually turned out into a promising outcome. Starting from a sales volume of 100 units in 2007 and 4,000 unit sales in 2015. “By the year 2020, Foton Philippines aims to achieve an annual sales volume of 20,000 units.” adds Sytin.
Furthermore, the company persists to pull off even higher target sales through their growing number of dealerships all over the country. This year, Foton will extend its new network dealership to 24 with opening of Quezon Avenue; Pasong Tamo; Marilao; Santa Rosa, Laguna; Batangas City and Camarines Sur. In the next 3 years, Foton expects to reach a total of at least 35 dealerships nationwide.
Foton also announced that the company will start exporting vehicles to other neighboring countries, such as Laos and Taiwan.
