Dubai, UAE—The Dubai International Motor Show or (The Middle East International Motor Show) is one of the biggest and action-packed event held in the Emirate of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Now on its 13th year, the event is organized by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), and builds on the widespread passion of all motor related sports across the region.
According to research firm BMI, the demand from manufacturers for this year’s show is in line with the growth curve of vehicle sales throughout the region which reached 16.7-percent in the UAE in 2013. Total vehicle sales in 2015 looks set to top 425,000 by the close of the year, 5.1-percent up on 2014. Such vibrancy underscores the show’s importance for manufacturers in the region.
Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President for Exhibitions and Events Management of Dubai World Trade Centre, said, “The MENA region is regarded as one of the largest growth markets in the automotive industry. This is reflected in the significant growth and success of the Dubai International Motor Show, which is now established as the definitive platform in the Middle East for showcasing the latest and most exciting models and marques.”
“We expect this year’s event to generate even more interest from local and international motoring enthusiasts, allowing key international automotive heavyweights to connect with a wide array of audiences from across the globe,” said LohMirmand.
A record breaking numbers with total of 18 global car debuts and 139 regional cars including Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo, Audi, Cadillac, Chrysler, Dodge, Infiniti, Jaguar, Ford, Ferrari, McLaren, and top-brass Japanese make such as Toyota and Nissan are among the crowd highlights.
Show organizers have pulled out all the stops to make the 2015 event one of the most memorable. One of the biggest is the Motoring Nostalgia Museum, an impressive array of some of the UAE’s most desirable collectors’ classics. The pop-up museum will highlight key vehicles from the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s that have left their mark on automobile history from collections that include Tomini Classics, Mohammed Ben Sulayem’s unique collection, the Sharjah Classic Car Museum, Al Ain Classic Car Museum and owners taking part in the Grand Parade. New features also include the Boulevard of Dreams, a spectacular showcase of supercars; an all-new area for bikers; Ignition live talks by motoring legends and experts; a custom car section and driving challenges.
